Zeebe operate - licence question

Hi Zeebe team,

thanks for all the hard work that you put into the Zeebe platform.
Currently, I’m evaluating different BPMN platforms and saw the rapid development of zebee.
I searched for the source code of operate and found that this seems to be a closed source project? (https://zeebe.io/legal/operate-evaluation-license/)

My questions are:

  • How can I ensure that the test license will be extended or available for commercial usage in the future?
  • Will operate be open-sourced in the future to provide a basic management tool like the open-source version of camunda cockpit?

From my perspective operate and the BPMN support are the most valuable features if I compare zebee with other orchestration tools for microservices.

Best
Stefan

Thanks for your interest in Zeebe @StefanB.

Operate is available for commercial use now. Click the “Enterprise” link on Zeebe.io to get more details on pricing for your projected use-case.

There is no plan to open-source it in the future.

There is a community project - Simple Monitor - that provides some inspection functionality and is open-source.
